  • Ingredients

    • 2-3 grams matcha powder
    • 60-80 mL hot water (approx. 80°C / 160–175°F)
    • 150–200 mL warm milk or plant milk (oat, almond, soy, etc.)
    • Sweetener to taste (brown sugar, maple syrup, honey, etc.) — optiona
  • Directions

    • Place your chasen in some warm water to soak for a moment.
    • Pour a little hot water into the chawan to warm it. Discard the water and dry the bowl.
    • Sift 2 - 3 grams of matcha into the bowl for a lump-free, velvety consistency.
    • Pour in approx. 60-80mL of hot water (not boiling!).
    • Using a chasen, whisk briskly in a zig-zag motion until a light froth forms on the surface.
    • Heat milk to a temperature of about 65'C. Use an automatic frothing machine or electric whisk if you have one.
    • Add milk and sweetener to cup and pour in your matcha.
    • Enjoy!

    • 50 - 70 mL of hot water (80'C)
    • 1 - 1.5 cup milk
    • Ice cubes
    • Sweetener (optional)

    • Fill glass with ice and add milk or milk alternative.

  • Ingredients

    • 4-5 fresh strawberries (or 2-3 TBsp strawberry purée)
    • 1–2 TBsp of sweetener (maple syrup, sugar, or honey)
    • 3 grams matcha powder
    • 60 mL hot water (80°C / 160–175°F)
    • 150–200 mL milk or plant milk
    • Ice
  • Directions

    • Make the strawberry base: Blend strawberries with sweetener until smooth (or mash with a fork). Add to the bottom of your glass.
    • Fill the glass with ice, then pour in your milk over the strawberry layer. Leave space at the top.
    • Prepare your matcha. Sift matcha into a small bowl, add hot water, and whisk until smooth and frothy.
    • Slowly pour the matcha over the milk layer to create that beautiful green-to-pink ombré effect.
    • Stir + sip (or don’t stir and enjoy the gradient look)
